![]() Updated: Today I chose a peers 8 MB file to download, just to watch how fast the downloading bandwidth speed would ramp up to the maximum that tunnel circuit allowed. I'm not seeing that happening when it takes 10 MB of a 15 MB file to simply reach 150 KB/sec transfer speeds in a very slow ramp up from 0 /KB/sec at the beginning. RETROSHARE SLOW DOWNLOAD FULLWith today's broadband connections, there's going to be less and less reaching the saturation and above mark which generates a pile of error corrections to slow down and resend, its full on swift ramping for both ends to the users indicated maximum bandwidth in rapid order. Within 1 MB being transferred the hurry up the bandwidth speeds has reached the maximum the peer and/or the source can reliably receive without generating a pile of error corrections going back to the peer sending that file. This very slow ramping up just doesn't exist with any of the common file sharing applications circa year 2000 onward. Probably at that sluggish rate it would take 100 MB or more to reach the peer and source maximum bandwidth each has to offer at that time making the Retroshare user bite their fingernails as the application slowly moved past 100 KB/sec 105, 110 KB/sec onward in a very slow incremental fashion where it should have long before already reached 400 KB/sec or higher. This was verified with the same lackluster result with 4 peer sources as well as 3 peer sources on files sized 10 MB or larger with both reaching the same conclusion, the ramping up was way, way slow. That should be reaching the maximum that connection is capable of providing and receiving by 1 MB shouldn't it? The ramp-up speed on Retroshare Downloads is very slow from 0 to 150 KB/sec after nearly 10 MB of file has been transferred. RETROSHARE SLOW DOWNLOAD SOFTWAREThis is an excellent way to safely try the software while connecting to untrusted users. While it is always possible to configure a normal Retroshare node to also use Tor, we provide specific builds that embed and manage Tor automatically, to ease things up. Doing so, even friend nodes cannot see your IP, which allows to safely and anonymously connect to unknown people. Retroshare can optionally be used over the Tor and I2P networks. ![]() RETROSHARE SLOW DOWNLOAD DOWNLOADYou may subscribe to channels and automatically download the latest files comment on files and spread them to your friends.
